Google is working on an update that will leverage Google Maps’ 3D building data to calculate how buildings interfere with GPS, and it says Android’s new “3D mapping aided corrections module” can correct for GPS bounces.
Uber abandons dreams of self-driving domination, sells self-driving unit
Aurora, one of the leading startups developing self-driving cars will take over Uber’s self-driving division. In addition, Uber is sinking $400 million into Aurora and will hold a minority stake in the company along with having representation on their board. This strategic divestment in self-driving technology is an interesting move for Uber.
